Lost Millwood. Boo.
Lost Elarton. Boo.
Johnson.. WTF?
I'm kinda excited to see what Byrd will give us.
Damon to the Yanks?! HAHA
I miss baseball season.
Especially since my TV shows are gonna be ending soon.. and cuz they've all been on some ridiculus 3 week hiatus for the holidays. Boo.

Oh yeah. I've a few pix of Malakai at my webshots albums. Nothing special, but if you wanna see go ahead & look. Amanda & I tried her saddle & bridle on him yesterday (which he looked adorable in). When we were tacking him up he got so excited, guess he thought we were going to the races. And when I walked him out of the barn I swear he jumped 3 feet off all 4s cuz he was so excited.
So I just walked him around to get him used to the idea of having tack on without racing. He was all huffy and proud, but I walked him with a loose lead so he wouldn't get too wound up. Cuz at the track they work them up like that too.
I lunged him some too, walk/trot, he was really good. He didn't want to go to the right though... understandable. So I walked around in a circle with him, then started asking him to go out by himself which he still didn't wanna do but was starting to understand what I wanted.
Ok, I'm done. Byebye

Alrighty... my Christmas list (you can't expect me to NOT post it! especially since
satinesparkles wished death on those who didn't post theirs. ;o) j/k).
My daddy got me a laptop! Amanda got one too. Mine won't hold the charge so I think I need a new battery..already? Umm.. I got a bunch or lotions & perfumes & lip stuff. We got quite a few new games for our game cube, including the King Kong one.
We gotta bowling thing, which is mostly for the boys really, that is set up across our living room right now. lol And.. I dunno, I think that's about it? Oh, and a few good books (including Forever Odd by Dean Koontz. I've been wanting to read it)
Went to see Dax today. I think I finally got something from him today. He was a ding song in the beginning, got a little rear out of him but I knocked him on the top of his head cuz I wasn't in the mood today & he was good after that. I did have the running martingale on him, extra loose cuz Cindy said so. ? It was like it wasn't there, but he still knew it was on, so he was respectful of the bit. But he's settled nicely, I think he's trusting my leg again.
I'm skipping the lesson with him tomorrow. I wasn't overly crazy about what we got done with his woman. Cindy & I have been working on the same thing and don't have to pay someone 70 bucks to do it. So I'll just wait til the other woman comes back, cuz she was worth the $70.
I think I might get a new username. Not sure yet, but I'm getting tired of the same one.Plus it doesn't even fit me. Aching to be invisible? Hm. I mean.. I still love Clay & all, but I just wanna new one. I kinda want a pain account too, but that's only cuz I want more icons. So it's not really worth the 20 bucks, I guess.
I'm out ♥

Okay.. so the real reason I hate Christmas, besides the fact that you have so much heartache & death around the holidays, is because my mom used to take our reindeer (Rudy, RIP) out for Christmas display things. And we would stand in the cold for hours on end on the weekends.
It's not even standing in the cold that would bother me.. it's being around a bunch of stupid people & stupid christmas songs & people shopping.
Stupid people.. they'd come up to us and ask 'Aww isn't he cold?' even though we had a fact sheet on reindeer right in front of their faces that says reindeer can handle temperatures 70 below. 10 degrees outside was like a freaking heatwave to him. But don't worry.. WE aren't cold standing here watching you stupid people to make sure you don't feed him anything you shouldn't. Or the 'Doesn't he need water?' thing, when the bucket is sitting right there, just to keep people happy even though he doesn't drink it anyway when he's out. But that's ok, we don't need any thanx.
And when we'd go to preschools with him and the stupid little brat kids would try to feed him the "reindeer food" that their teachers helped them make, which consisted of beads, glitter & confetti.
But of course stupid people can be fun too. Sometimes mom & dad would double book (dad being Santa (shut up), mom just taking Rudy) so they'd go their seperate ways. But dad would take Trigger (our 28" miniature horse) for amusment, maybe? And put fake antlers on him.
These stupid people would ask what it was, and if any of you know my dad you know how sarcastic he can be sometimes. He'd tell people he was an African Pygmy Reindeer. Ok.. so some people, the smart ones, would just laugh. But we actually had people say things like "Ohhh I've heard of those" or "Wow, I've always wanted to see one!" LMFAO
So, that is why I hate the holiday season. Because I've always been around it too much. Because people make such a big fucking deal about it. Because of stupid people. Because of snow.
I'm done.

Dax was amazingly good today. I did switch bridles. I used mine rather than Cindy's with the drop noseband. I am wondering if that was part of the reason he was carrying his head so high & rearing, the drop erritated him somehow. But he was better, much more relaxed. He's still too sensitive to my leg, but I think that will just take some time to get to the trust it again after that guy kicked him.
My other ponies are doing pretty good so far. That makes me happy.
Ohh.. last weekend at the show went pretty good. Mom finished Ari with her 2nd major. And I got two 3 point majors on Rumor! Yay. I was excited since it was her first time out. She really should have had it on Friday also (I didn't show her on Sunday) because all the borders there were a bunch of shit ass dogs. Ew. The ones where you wanna shake the judge and tell them to get new fucking glasses then find the breeder of the dog and slit their throat and spay all their dogs.
Hmm... that's all. Byebye

This month is stupid. I've been so lazy & haven't felt like doing anything. And now it's almost christmas. I haven't even shopped for everyone yet. I hate Christmas anyway. >_< Everyone makes such a big deal out of it, it's just around too much.
Let's see... yesterday I had 2 horses colic on me. Wow.. that's so much fun. I hurt from walking them all day... feet, knees, back. Plus the fact that is part of the reason I lost Lakota, that makes it scary. Around the same time too. Of course Lakota had other problems.. the colic only hurried it along, but it's scary.
Star had a mild impaction. She started on Tuesday, not wanting to eat. But when we checked on her later in the night she had finished her grain so I left it at that. Then I went out the next morning & you could tell she had been rolling some, plus she was still only picking at her food. Called the vet, she had a mild impaction. Luckily it didn't bother her enough to roll, I just turned her out in the arena and she walked herself around. By the time she started running around & bucking I figured she felt fine so I let her in.
Then I went out the feed at about 5 and Bailey was all snow covered & that's the first thing I thought was colic. Of course I'm just paranoid too when it comes to them. So I bring her in & starts rolling in her stall. Ugh. She had a gas colic. About 15 minutes after we had the tube in her nose & the meds in her you could tell she was coming out of it, thank god.
Vet suggested flu, but we kinda ruled that out since they had 2 different types of colic. She said it was probably because they were inside for 4 days (while we were at the dog show. Ryan does them in the mornings for me but he can't let them out) and then went outside and got into so much hay (cuz we keep round bales outside over the winter cuz theres no grass).
And now I'm paranoid to feed them. More so Star because she had the impaction. But they should be fine if I put them back onto it gradually, plus they're pooping (you can never be happier over poop unless your horse coliced. haha). Star was so mad tonight because her whole half a flake of hay was gone before I even left the barn.
Anyway... So I didn't get to see Dax on Weds cuz of that. Went out today, he was a dumbass. He even reared a few times, something he has never done before. I think alot of it is he just doesn't want to work. But ever since that guy came to see him and kicked him really hard he's been paranoid, like he thinks I'm gonna kick him or something.
I finally put the martingale back on him today because I ain't putting up with him rearing. And he respected it. Its just the running martingale, and I keep it loose so it doesn't force his head down, but he still worked on the bit for me with it on. Guess we'll see how things go tomorrow. I think I'm going to keep him in the martingale so I don't have to fight with his head & get him to trust my leg again...... :o/

I have baby pictures of my ponies!
( Baby pix here )
I just emailed Pat to ask for one of Star, I'm pretty sure she'd have one... but maybe not. We'll see.

Pix of some of the dogs, I couldn't resist cuz they were being such morons. Do know that we don't normally turn them out next to eachother because that is what they'd do all day, run eachother back & forth, but it's just how I had them turned out while I was cleaning yesterday.

I had my lesson today. It's been way too long since I've taken a lesson. Try.... 2 years? Atleast. But it went very well. I rode Cindy's 4th level thoroughbred, Frenchie. He was insanely light & sensitive. I think it was good for my to ride a horse as sensiitve as he was. Then after the lesson I realized that I'm not as solid of a rider as I'd like to be. I guess I just ride too many green horses.
But we were both out of shape and just kinda died at the end lol, but it was good. I definatly need to strenghten up to the right. We were fine to the left, but to the right I kept getting flying changes out of him because my lower leg is so unsteady (and that's how sensitve he was). But we worked it out. I think I'm going to ride him some more just to make myself work.
Then I have a lesson with a different person on Tuesday with Dax. Cindy suggested using Dax with her because she's really good with green horses. Soo there goes more money.
It really is amazing what I'll spend my money on. I'll think twice about the pair of jeans I want, or won't buy the CD I want, but I'll drop 70 bucks for a riding lesson or fifteen or so for bell boots for Kai without even thinking about it.
Anyway.. a few pix that aren't even that good cuz the lighting sucked. I was going to post the video of our shoulder-in cuz he is just too cute doing it, but it won't upload. ( +6 Frenchie & meee, taken by my lovely sister )

mood:
tired
music: twista & mariah//so lonely
I didn't get up to see Dax all weekend then finally got out there today and spent quite a few hours out there. When I got there Cindy & Marleen were riding their horses so I watched them school their Prix St George horses with envy. I soo hope I can do that some day. Then when they were done I groomed Dax and found the inside of his hock swollen. He had a cut on it, already scabbed over, so I hosed it down & we trotted him. He wasn't lame but I didn't want to make him sore either so I just lunged him for about 15 minutes and left it at that.
So I watched Marleen ride her other horse, Algebra. He's a 4 year old black Rheinland imported from Germany only about 3 months ago. OMG GORGEOUS!!
And I finally got to meet the owner of Chip( the ottb that Dax loves). That horse is so cute under saddle, he's only been off the track for a little over a year but he looks really nice.
Then I was talking to Cindy while we watched them ride. She said with Dax's progress already, in just a week, she thinks we should ask $25,000 when we start advertising next month. She knows somebody that will help us get a video together, she rambled off about half a dozen barns she knows would be possibly interested in him, etc etc.
I dunno what to tell this lady yet who was supposed to come see him last weekend. We had already told her 6500, but now that he's in training we will have to raise the price. But that won't be easy to jump up about 20K, which we won't do with her because of the fact we had already quoted her the 6500. Money isn't the issue, I had already planned to sell him a couple thousand back, but now that he's been evaluated it honestly is a motivation. Plus this is what I'd like to get into, the buying/training/selling of horses. Good start, right?
So that was my day. I can't get to see Dax tomorrow, probably be better not to work him much with his leg like that anyway. So I'll go up Wednesday. I'm gonna ride Frenchie too before I take the lesson on him.
( ANYWAY.. the real reason I was going to post.... )

We finally got Dax up to Cindy's barn on Monday.. her new one she just moved into this summer. I moved him up there to be able to ride when this woman came to see him(because my suck ass outdoor ring freezes and I can't ride. she has an indoor). But after Cindy got to see him she talked to mom, then she & mom talked me into keeping him for a few more months & get some more training on him. She said we are not asking enough for him. We're asking $6500 but she said we should be able to get $10,000-$15,000 easily, possibly more if I did a few schooling shows over the winter & get him exposed more to the outside world & say he's had show experience. So we figured I'd get him into shape before I did anymore advertising, have some fun at a few schooling shows and go from there. I put this woman off til after the holidays. She still wants to see him after that so I have to email her again and tell her his price will go up with training.
Unfortunatly Cindy is about 35 miles north of us, quite a haul when all you wanna do is go ride your horse, but Cindy offered to work him for me when I can't make it up there. I think that'll be good for him. Cindy has some clinics coming up too. She has somebody that comes in to give lessons twice a month for whoever wants it. It's $70 bucks for an hour lesson o_o but it'll be worth it if it'll help me & Dax. Cindy is going to let me ride Frenchie (her 4th level thoroughbred) for the first one on the 10th.
Cindy also suggested this horse she has boarded there, the owner wants to half lease him. He is an anglo-arab going Prix St George level. It'd be insanely fun & probably a good learning experience.. he has piaffe, passage, one & two tempis, etc etc (and he gives kissing it's so insanely cute) but I don't think I could. I've gotta come up with board pay for Dax right now.
Ohh and I finally got to see her mare she imported for Holland. Gah.. gorgeous. 17.1 hands, 9 yrs, don't remember what breed... She's Prix St George I think.. maybe Grand Prix? I don't remember. Maybe if I'm lucky Dax will learn a few things being around all these fancy horses, eh?
So anyway.. Dax & I had a lesson with Cindy today which went insanely good considering he's only been there for 2 days and that he hasn't been ridden in, oh.. 3 weeks? Maybe 4? But he's doing good, he's already buddied up with someones ottb gelding, Chip. It's funny how attached they are, because he was never like that with any of ours here.
I'm out, I have a friends page to catch up on

I miss baseball season. Blehh -_- And now Howry's gone.. that blows. I liked Howry.
I really should be working on the website, but I have no motivation to do that. I still haven't put those 4000+ pix onto CDs off of Kodak, cuz I have no motivation for that either. I've been so blah this weekend, I haven't done anything really.
My hand kills. It's the first it's hurt since I got the stitches. Gah.. I feel so useless cuz I can't do anything. Hell, I can't even type but with my left hand yet. Stalls haven't been done since Thursday o_o Bad horse owner. Mom said she'll help me later tho.
Cripes.. I still need to get a video together for somebody else interested in Dax.
Mom wants me to vacuum the floors.. I think that is what I hate doing the most around the house. Shit I have phone calls to make too o_o There was no point in this post anyway. Enjoy :o)
